“The purpose of art is not the release of a momentary ejection of adrenaline but rather the gradual, lifelong construction of a state of wonder and serenity.” ―Glenn Gould
At Par Music Academy, this philosophy guides every lesson we teach.

I have been immersed in the world of piano for over 25 years, a journey that has evolved into a dedicated teaching career over the past six years. To ensure my students receive the highest standard of Canadian music education, I have completed the RCM Teaching Elementary Piano course and hold a formal certificate in this pedagogy.
Beyond my private studio, I am an active member of the "Teach Me to Teach Society", a professional development group led by the respected RCM examiner and Canadian piano teacher, Ms. Lauren Kelly. This commitment to continuous learning allows me to bring the latest technical insights and RCM examination standards directly to my students, ensuring they grow with both confidence and precision.

My approach is uniquely informed by my work as a researcher at the University of Calgary’s Clinical Neuroscience Department. Science shows that music education is a powerful tool for brain development, strengthening memory, attention, and emotional regulation. By understanding how the brain processes music, I help students of all ages unlock their cognitive potential and achieve a sense of balance and well-being.

Whether you are an RCM exam candidate, a teenager seeking high school credits, or an adult returning to the piano, your lessons are tailored to your specific goals. Using world-class curricula like Piano Adventures and the Royal Conservatory of Music, I focus on developing strong technique, rhythm, and creativity. My mission is to ensure that your time at the academy is the most encouraging and rewarding part of your week.
